While pubs are still closing at the rate of 18 a weeks as reported by BBC news Duane and Debbie Lewis are bucking the trend. 10 years ago they bought The New Forest Inn, Emery Down (on a 2 year plan) but continued to then transform another 4 well known pub restaurants across The New Forest which are The Trusty Servant, The Royal Oak Hilltop, The Royal Oak Downton and The Mortimer Arms. They have now embarked on an incredible renovation of a once popular eatery on the edge of The New Forest. It is the beginning of a new era for The Bold Forester. The complete refurbishment has managed to keep the heart and soul of the pub but incorporating some quirky and attractive features. The old pool room is now a relaxing lounge area with sofas and chairs where you can enjoy a morning coffee and cake or afternoon tea from our new Pantry area or just relax with a beverage! The bar has been sympathetically designed to enjoy a satisfying drink or eat at the tables and be a part of the bar area. The vast restaurant area is now separated into niche dining areas with the ability to seat large family groups or just a cosy table for two. The carvery has been removed and The Bold Forester now has an extensive menu of fresh, home cooked on the premises dishes. As with all of the family pubs, the Chef has designed his own menu with traditional pub classics and his own sublime Chef Specials. The Bold Forester is opening on Friday 9th November at 5pm and welcomes customers old and new to join them.
